The AO-HSC program has been honored to receive many awards and citations from mayors, governors, senators, and congressmen throughout the country in recognition of the critical services it provides to its deserving participants. Some of the honors include:
Power of A Award
The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) honored AO with a 2019 Power of A Gold Award for the dental program.
William J. Gies Award for Vision, Innovation, and Achievement
In 2018 the dental program received the 11th annual award for its mission to provide pro bono oral care to Holocaust survivors in need across North America. The Gies Awards honors the individuals, institutions, and organizations that exemplify the highest standards in oral health and dental education, research, and leadership.
U.S. Congressional Record: Congressman Thomas R. Suozzi
On Yom HaShoah, Monday, April 24, 2017, members of Alpha Omega together with other dentists across the USA and Canada, met in Washington, D.C. to share their experience in providing pro-bono comprehensive oral healthcare to economically vulnerable Holocaust survivors. They met with their key staffers on Capitol Hill to discuss the oral health needs of Survivors. Of special note is that the work of the Program was written into the Congressional Record by Congressman Thomas R. Suozzi, Democrat, New York, District 3.
Dr. Edward B. Shils Entrepreneurial Fund, Inc. Award
In 2017 the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity received the award for providing free oral healthcare to Holocaust survivors through the dental program. The award recognizes people, organizations, and programs for their contributions to the dental community and public health arena.
